A BLOG ABOUT INNER WISDOM

Healing the Sacred Divide: A Video Interview

A few weeks ago, Susanne Van Doorn, a blogger from the Netherlands, interviewed me on Skype. The subject of our talk was my newest book, Healing the Sacred Divide. Susanne wanted to know things like, “What does the title mean?” and “What got you interested in dreamwork?,” “Why are there 9 gifts of an integrated God-image,” and “Why did you write the Cosmic Dialogues between God and Goddess?” I hope you enjoy what I have to say about these and other aspects of my book.

Confessions of a Right-Brained Writer

There’s nothing wrong with either of us. We just have different ways of thinking about, processing and expressing information. His way is considered far superior to mine in our Western, academically oriented culture. And for many years, I bought into that perspective.

Dream About A Mother Complex

While the imagery of this dream may be shocking to a waking ego which does not see itself as a raging killer of little old ladies, there’s a deeper metaphorical meaning. In my projection, the mean old lady represents her negative mother complex: the factors that have stood in the way of her individuation.

Killing Lance Armstrong

When I asked my friend how he felt after that dream, he said most of the anger and resentment was gone. I asked how he felt about it now. He said, “I feel good!” That’s when I realized what the dream was about.

How Emotionally Intelligent Are You?

Most of us believe we’re in touch with our emotions if we feel the basic ones like love, anger, fear, happiness, and sadness. But it is possible to feel and recognize some emotions and not others. Moreover, knowing you’re feeling an emotion doesn’t necessarily translate into the ability to contain it or use it wisely. Consider the following symptoms of emotional ignorance. Which of these have you experienced?

The Six C's of the Silver Queen

In the outer world of work, the Silver Queen is the most visible manifestation of healthy feminine authority. We see her in socially aware leaders and authorities of all kinds; for example, enterprising founders of innovative business practices that weaken the stranglehold of one-sided logic and linearity,

The Sacred Laws of Psyche

My friends: last week’s post about the new book, Into the Heart of the Feminine, by Jungian analysts Drs. Bud and Massimilla Harris, addressed a lesson that must be learned if we want to heal ourselves and the world. This is the importance of recapturing our ability to think psychologically and symbolically. This I know: learning the two languages of One Mind is the only lasting remedy for the devastation that our cultural mentality of one-sided rational, verbal and literal thinking has wrought.

Into the Heart of the Feminine

In this outstanding and groundbreaking book, the Harrises use the myth of the Greek Gorgon Medusa to demonstrate the timeless reality of a powerful and destructive complex of images, symbols and themes known as the Death Mother.

New Dreams About My Animus: Part II

In last week’s post I shared two animus dreams from four years ago featuring helpful men. One made me feel loved, protected and deeply secure. The

New Dreams About My Animus

My birthday dream depicts one reward of accepting my masculine side. My Easter dream says this work is not over. The presence of an audience suggests that my other inner characters are interested in my soul-making drama. It could also refer to an outer audience which is watching and helping. Both interpretations feel right to me.
