A BLOG ABOUT INNER WISDOM

Have You Ever Met a Mystic?

Have you ever had what felt like a “religious experience?” Something that filled you with awe and wonder and made you feel you were in the presence of the Divine? Perhaps it came in physical form, like a wildly improbable synchronistic experience; a wave of chills that came while listening to a beautiful hymn; seeing an aura around a person; or feeling a powerful surge of energy in your body that couldn’t be explained by science.

Reflections on Refuge

It’s been cool and rainy for the past two weeks. When misty drizzles swell into weightier drops the birds desert our feeders. I feel sorry for them, worry about how they’re keeping dry.

My Animus is Afraid to Trust My Instincts

When I quit teaching and began writing over 25 years ago, this habit persisted. By then my reading, studying and writing were focused on Jungian psychology and understanding my dreams. But as I persisted in this inner work, something changed.

Summer Surprises

We’re back in our beloved Smokey Mountains and we brought our granddaughters and granddog with us. The kids are gone now, and I miss them terribly, but for the last 11 days we’ve had a marvelous time. There’s a lot to do here and the weather is glorious, so we took advantage of it. Healing the Sacred Divide: A Video Interview

A few weeks ago, Susanne Van Doorn, a blogger from the Netherlands, interviewed me on Skype. The subject of our talk was my newest book, Healing the Sacred Divide. In my projection, the mean old lady represents her negative mother complex: the factors that have stood in the way of her individuation.

Killing Lance Armstrong

When I asked my friend how he felt after that dream, he said most of the anger and resentment was gone. I asked how he felt about it now. He said, “I feel good!” That’s when I realized what the dream was about.

How Emotionally Intelligent Are You?

Most of us believe we’re in touch with our emotions if we feel the basic ones like love, anger, fear, happiness, and sadness. But it is possible to feel and recognize some emotions and not others. Moreover, knowing you’re feeling an emotion doesn’t necessarily translate into the ability to contain it or use it wisely. Consider the following symptoms of emotional ignorance. Which of these have you experienced?

The Six C's of the Silver Queen

In the outer world of work, the Silver Queen is the most visible manifestation of healthy feminine authority. We see her in socially aware leaders and authorities of all kinds; for example, enterprising founders of innovative business practices that weaken the stranglehold of one-sided logic and linearity,
