When you are in the darkness you take the next thing, and that is a dream. And you can be sure that the dream is your nearest friend; the dream is the friend of those who are not guided any more by the traditional truth and in consequence are isolated. ~Carl Jung, the Symbolic Life, CW 18, Para 674
And if you lose yourself in the crowd, in the whole of humanity, you also never arrive at yourself; just as you can get lost in your isolation, you can also get lost in utter abandonment to the crowd. ~Carl Jung, Zarathustra Seminar, Page 1020
What’s the Point of the Three Kings?
Those of us raised as Christians know this holiday is about a lot more than rushing about, partying and shopping, and many of us enjoy warm memories and nostalgic feelings this time of year. But why are the moments of love, joy and peace so difficult to find during the holiday season? Where do the feelings of exhaustion, anxiety, disappointment and depression come from? Why do we keep missing the point of Christmas? How can we recapture it?

Thank you! 🙂
Thanks Jeanie this is so lovely. If there’s one thing I know, it’s to take my dream life seriously and be grateful for the gift that they are. It pricked my memory of a dream/image some days/nights ago which I recorded only later that day. Just lately perhaps because of travelling my dream life has not been present – but now that I’m home as of last night, I’m hoping for a return of nocturnal ‘activity’. I so agree that ‘Know Thyself’ is a true authentic spiritual journey …
Thanks, Susan. My dream life is the same. Several days might go by before I capture a dream, and working on it in my dream journal often jump-starts more dreams for the next few days. Then another slow period…. A big contrast to the early years when I recorded several dreams a night and most nights in a week. Of course, it has everything to do with how intentional I am about remembering my dreams, having my dream journal immediately at hand, and being able to wake up naturally without having to rush off anywhere right away. For the most part, traveling, especially on a tight schedule, usually makes it more difficult.
Thank you so much for this post. It clarifies some thoughts and dreams I have been having.
You’re very welcome, Tina. I’m thrilled to know it has helped bring some clarity to your recent dreams. Thanks for writing, and blessings on your journey!
